I'm four months pregnant, still getting used to it and I'm not sure how hard I should be working out?
I'm worried about the safety of my baby, because this is my first pregnancy, but I also want to feel prepared and fit for the months ahead. How do you know your limits?

The subject of your limits is a dialogue ment to be had by you and your doctor first then once you have the all clear, sit down with your Pilates instructor and lay out a plan.

Examine your weaknesses (say upper body for instance) and begin detailing a workout program that includes targeting those weaknesses (more arm work if thats whats needed and so on).

Now, if you are a consistent client (2 to 3 times per week) there is a chance that you will not have to change your program very much except for removing all overhead work and breaking down your workout to 10 minute routines and not staying on your back for too long.

Being constant with your workout routines will benefit your pregnancy and give the strength to handle all the new changes that come with it.

Keep in touch and tell us how you're doing. smile.gif

Hi

I had a boy. Two pushes and he was out.

I'm so grateful and everyone said how unusual that is for a first time birth. I completely credit Pilates. I did it throughout my whole pregnancy.

Thanks,

Congratulations!

Every blessing to you and your new family. Two pushes, very impressive. Keep up with your pilates especially now that you have to keep up with your baby.
